Survival Bags For The Homeless Part 2/3
Updated: Jan 4, 2020
Inspired by a clip on YouTube, this is the story of how 11 year old Amelia Baird has created a project to help homeless youths in Birmingham.
The idea is beautiful in its simplicity. Take a rucksack and fill it with items that anyone living on the streets would find essential – without making it too heavy and then deliver it to those who need it most. But Amelia explains that it wasn’t quite that simple – and had to “bend a few ears” first!

The bags arrived home today (Friday 31st March 2017) and wow - what an amazing collection! So without further ado - we're not quite sure where Amelia is sleeping tonight as her bed is, well, full!
Once all the bags are packed, Amelia's plan is to:
Hand deliver the bags herself to homeless people
Ask if they will be interviewed on video to help raise further awareness for St Basils
Publish each video online to encourage more donations!
We'll be helping Amelia deliver the bags, and will help her post photos and continue her story. Well done Amelia and everyone involved in the project! Truly inspiring to see such ingenuity in action.
PART 3 COMING SOON!
